There is a legend of three sisters that loved each other so much they did not wish to be separated. As they grew older and men came courting they set such high goals for the men that they could never be met and the sisters never married. As they grew older they grew very beautiful, but their hearts slowly turned to stone.
One day they were walking along the beach when a rogue wave spotted them and, seeing how beautiful they were, reached out and grabbed at the nearest sister and dragged her into the ocean.
Because her heart was made of stone she sank and the remaining two sisters ran crying into the waves after her. They too sank into the waves and remained together even in death.
